Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) are often requested to help assess an injured worker. These evaluations are typically between 3-5 hours long and asses the worker’s flexibility and range of motion, strength, endurance, and lifting abilities. We utilize a variety of tests, which may include job specific type testing, to help determine an individual’s physical demand level and overall functional abilities, as well as identify any possible restrictions.

We try to schedule all FCEs within 2-4 weeks of a request. We’ll contact the vocational counselors, claims managers, adjustors, or attorneys prior to the FCEs to collect needed information and to make sure the purpose of the evaluation is clear for everyone. We call and send out reminder letters to the individuals being tested, to answer any questions they may have prior to their evaluation. Our functional capacity evaluations (FCEs) are completed in 1-2 days, depending on the type and purpose being requested. Typed reports are typically available within 3-5 business days following the evaluations. If there are additional questions regarding the outcome of the FCE we are easy to reach and happy to provide clarity when needed.
